Job Title: Purchase Manager (Infrastructure & Construction)

Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in Construction/Infrastructure (specifically Water Supply, Drainage, Bridges, and Buildings).

Job Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Purchase Manager to lead our procurement operations for large-scale infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring materials and services for water supply networks, drainage systems, bridge construction, and building projects. Your goal is to ensure high-quality material delivery while maintaining cost efficiency and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Sourcing & Procurement: Manage the end-to-end procurement process for specialized materials (DI/MS/HDPE pipes for water/drainage, structural steel, high-grade concrete, and finishing materials).
• Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and sub-contractors. Maintain a robust database of vendors specifically for bridge and heavy infra components.
• Negotiation: Negotiate credit terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to ensure the best commercial outcomes without compromising quality.
• Inventory & Logistics: Coordinate with site engineers to forecast material requirements and ensure "just-in-time" delivery to avoid site delays.
• Quality Compliance: Ensure all procured materials meet project specifications, IS codes, and client quality standards.
• Budgeting: Prepare monthly procurement budgets and track variances to keep projects within financial limits.
• Documentation: Manage Purchase Orders (POs), Material Receipt Notes (MRNs), and coordinate with the accounts department for timely vendor payments.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

• Industry Expertise: Deep knowledge of materials used in Water Supply & Sewerage (valves, pumps, pipes) and Bridges/Buildings (reinforcement, shuttering, admixtures).
• Software: MS Excel & MS Word
• Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering or a Degree in Supply Chain Management is preferred.
• Regulation Knowledge: Familiarity with GST, E-way bills, and local transport regulations.

• Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict project deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills for cost-benefit analysis.
