CNC Profile Cutting Operator – Plasma & Oxy-Fuel (Messer)

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced CNC Profile Cutting Machine Operator to independently operate our Messer make CNC Plasma and Oxy-Fuel cutting machine at our Angul site. The candidate must be capable of nesting, programming, and executing plate cutting jobs with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Messer CNC plasma and oxy-fuel profile cutting machine for MS/structural steel plate cutting

• Prepare nesting layouts to optimise material utilisation and minimise scrap

• Create and edit CNC cutting programs as per drawing requirements

• Read and interpret fabrication/structural drawings, cutting plans, and BOQs

• Set up machine parameters — torch height, cutting speed, gas pressure, amperage — for different plate thicknesses

• Perform daily machine maintenance, including torch consumable replacement, rail cleaning, and gas line checks

• Maintain cutting quality within acceptable tolerances and minimise bevel/dross

• Coordinate with the fabrication and planning team for job sequencing and material availability

• Maintain job records, material consumption logs, and shift reports

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical or relevant trade

• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience operating CNC profile cutting machines (plasma + oxy-fuel)

• Must have worked on Messer or equivalent European/Japanese make machines (Koike, ESAB, etc.)

• Proficiency in nesting software (MesServ OmniWin / similar CAM nesting software)

• Ability to independently program cutting paths from engineering drawings

• Working knowledge of different plate grades and thickness ranges (6 mm to 100 mm+)

• Familiarity with cutting parameters for MS, HT steel, and wear-resistant plates is preferred

Desired Skills:

• Experience with bevel cutting and multi-torch operation

• Knowledge of DXF/DWG file handling

• Basic computer literacy

• Good communication in Hindi/Odia
