SModi Infrasteel Pvt. Ltd. is a growing and quality-focused PEB company engaged in design, manufacturing, and erection of industrial steel buildings across India. We are currently hiring a dedicated and technically strong Steel Structure Quality Engineer for our manufacturing facility at Rohad, Bahadurgarh.

The candidate should have practical knowledge of structural steel fabrication, built-up section manufacturing, welding quality control, dimensional inspection, and production quality management in the PEB industry.

Job Responsibilities:Quality Inspection & Monitoring:

• Inspection of built-up sections, columns, rafters, crane beams, bracings, and fabricated members

• Monitoring fit-up quality before welding activities

• Checking dimensions, alignment, camber, diagonals, straightness, and fabrication tolerances

• Ensuring fabrication work is executed as per approved fabrication drawings and GA drawings

• Inspection of welded joints and weld finishing quality

• Verifying hole positions, bolt hole accuracy, cutting quality, and assembly standards

• Inspection of roof and wall structural accessories as per approved standards

Welding & Fabrication Quality Control:

• Monitoring SAW, MIG, ARC, and CO2 welding quality

• Ensuring proper welding procedures and consumable usage

• Checking weld penetration, weld size, surface finish, and distortion control

• Coordination with welders and fabrication supervisors for quality improvement

• Identification and rectification of fabrication defects and welding issues

• Maintaining welding quality records and inspection reports

Material & Production Inspection:

• Verification of incoming raw materials like plates, coils, pipes, and structural sections

• Checking material grades, thicknesses, heat numbers, and MTC documents

• Inspection of plate cutting, assembly, welding, grinding, drilling, and finishing activities

• Ensuring usage of approved prime-grade materials as per project requirements

• Monitoring production activities to avoid rejection and rework

Paint & Surface Preparation Inspection:

• Inspection of shot blasting quality and surface cleanliness

• Checking primer application, paint thickness, and coating quality

• Monitoring paint DFT and finishing standards

• Ensuring proper handling and storage of fabricated material after painting

Documentation & Reporting:

• Preparation and maintenance of QA/QC reports

• Maintaining fabrication inspection records and production quality checklists

• Coordination during third-party inspection and client inspection visits

• Reporting daily quality status to management and production team

• Maintaining NCR records and corrective action reports

Candidate Requirements:Qualification:

• Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Civil Engineering

Experience:

• Minimum 2–8 years experience in PEB / Structural Steel Fabrication Industry preferred

Technical Knowledge:

• Knowledge of built-up section fabrication processes

• Understanding of PEB fabrication drawings and structural detailing

• Knowledge of welding inspection and fabrication standards

• Familiar with measuring instruments like Vernier, Micrometer, DFT meter, Welding Gauge, etc.

• Basic knowledge of quality documentation and reporting systems

Skills Required:

• Strong technical understanding of structural steel fabrication

• Good observation and inspection skills

• Ability to handle shop floor quality activities independently

• Good coordination with production, dispatch, and project teams

• Responsible, disciplined, and quality-oriented approach
