We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Steel Structure Fabrication Manager who can independently manage complete fabrication operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, productivity, and safety.

Position SummaryThe Steel Structure Fabrication Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling complete fabrication activities from raw material receipt to finished dispatch.

The ideal candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of structural steel fabrication, excellent leadership capabilities, production planning expertise, and the ability to achieve committed production targets without compromising quality.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

▸ Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly fabrication schedules.

▸ Achieve committed production targets within planned timelines.

▸ Monitor complete fabrication activities including:

• Plate Cutting

• CNC Plasma Cutting

• Band Saw Cutting

• Drilling

• Punching

• Fit-Up

• Built-Up Beam Assembly

• Welding

• Grinding

• Straightening

• Finishing

• Trial Assembly

• Packing

▸ Ensure smooth production flow across all departments.

▸ Eliminate production bottlenecks.

▸ Increase machine utilization and shop productivity.

▸ Monitor fabrication cycle time.

▸ Improve overall production efficiency.

Fabrication Planning

▸ Coordinate with PPC department for production priorities.

▸ Review fabrication drawings before production.

▸ Plan manpower according to production requirements.

▸ Ensure uninterrupted material availability.

▸ Coordinate with stores for daily material requirements.

▸ Maintain fabrication sequence as per erection priorities.

▸ Coordinate with dispatch team for timely loading.

Quality Management

▸ Ensure fabrication strictly as per approved fabrication drawings.

▸ Maintain dimensional accuracy.

▸ Ensure welding quality as per applicable standards.

▸ Verify fit-up quality before welding.

▸ Reduce fabrication rework.

▸ Maintain fabrication tolerances.

▸ Coordinate with QA/QC department during inspections.

▸ Resolve fabrication quality issues immediately.

▸ Ensure customer specifications are followed throughout production.

Welding Management

▸ Supervise MIG, SAW, FCAW, SMAW and CO₂ welding activities.

▸ Monitor welding consumable usage.

▸ Ensure proper WPS compliance.

▸ Monitor weld quality.

▸ Reduce welding defects.

▸ Improve welder productivity.

▸ Ensure proper pre-weld and post-weld inspections.

Shop Floor Management

▸ Lead supervisors, engineers, foremen, operators and fabrication teams.

▸ Allocate manpower according to daily production plans.

▸ Conduct daily production meetings.

▸ Review previous day's production.

▸ Resolve shop floor issues.

▸ Maintain discipline across fabrication units.

▸ Ensure proper housekeeping.

▸ Improve work culture and productivity.

Equipment & Machine Management

Experience in handling:

▸ CNC Plasma Machines

▸ Material Handling Equipment

▸ Grinding Equipment

Material Management

▸ Monitor raw material availability.

▸ Reduce scrap generation.

▸ Control steel consumption.

Safety Responsibilities

▸ Ensure crane safety.

▸ Ensure machine guarding compliance.

▸ Maintain clean and organized work areas.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for professionals having:

▸ 8–15 years of experience in Structural Steel / PEB Fabrication.

▸ Proven experience in managing heavy steel fabrication shops.

▸ Strong knowledge of built-up sections.

▸ Strong understanding of fabrication drawings.

▸ Knowledge of welding processes.

▸ Experience in production planning.

▸ Leadership and team management skills.

▸ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

▸ Excellent problem-solving skills.

▸ Positive attitude and ownership mindset.
