Job Description
A CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machine Operator sets up, programs, and operates computer-controlled machinery to fabricate precision parts and tools. They translate technical blueprints into machine instructions, load raw materials, conduct test runs, and perform strict quality control to ensure finished products meet exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Operation: Install cutting tools, fixtures, and raw materials into the CNC machine according to engineering drawings and job orders.
- Programming & Editing: Load, edit, or write machine programs (using G-code or CAD/CAM software) to optimize cutting, drilling, and milling operations.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and make real-time machine adjustments to correct deviations.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine machine maintenance (cleaning, lubricating) and troubleshoot mechanical or software malfunctions to prevent production downtime
