Electrician

Job SummaryThe Electrician is responsible for carrying out electrical installation, wiring, maintenance, testing, and repair activities at project sites. The electrician must ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and according to approved drawings, specifications, and company quality standards.

• Key Responsibilities1. Electrical InstallationExecute electrical wiring and installation works as per approved drawings and instructions.
• Install switches, sockets, lights, fans, DBs, MCBs, MCCBs, isolators, and other electrical accessories.
• Carry out cable laying, cable dressing, termination, and glanding.
• Install cable trays, conduits, PVC/HDPE pipes, junction boxes, and related electrical infrastructure.
• Assist in installation of electrical panels and equipment.
• 2. Testing & MaintenancePerform basic testing of electrical circuits and installations.
• Identify electrical faults and carry out necessary repairs.
• Conduct preventive and corrective electrical maintenance.
• Check electrical connections for proper termination and safety.
• Assist engineers and supervisors during testing and commissioning.
• 3. Site ExecutionFollow daily work instructions provided by the Electrical Supervisor/Site Engineer.
• Complete assigned work within the planned timeline.
• Coordinate with other site workers and subcontractors.
• Maintain proper housekeeping at the work location.
• Ensure materials and tools are used properly and without wastage.
• 4. Safety & QualityFollow all electrical safety procedures and company safety policies.
• Use required PPE such as safety shoes, helmet, gloves, and safety harness.
• Ensure electrical work is carried out only after proper isolation/permission where required.
• Maintain quality standards in wiring, termination, installation, and finishing.
• Immediately report unsafe conditions, electrical faults, damaged cables, or equipment issues to the supervisor.
• 5. Materials & ToolsHandle electrical tools and equipment safely.
• Check materials before installation and report shortages or damages.
• Avoid unnecessary material wastage.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Required SkillsGood knowledge of electrical wiring and installation.
• Knowledge of electrical tools and testing instruments.
• Ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of cable laying and termination.
• Knowledge of DB, MCB, MCCB, switches, sockets, lights, and electrical accessories.
• Basic troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good discipline, attendance, and safety awareness.

QualificationITI – Electrician / Electrical Trade

Candidates with relevant electrical experience and practical site knowledge may also be considered.

Experience2–5 years of experience in electrical installation, construction, maintenance, or electrical contracting projects.

Fresh ITI candidates with good practical knowledge may also be considered for junior positions.
