Medical Transcriptionist

Role: Medical Transcriptionist / Typist

Job Purpose: 

Responsible for maintaining patient records in digital formats with accurate medial information

Job Responsibilities:

• Transfer data from paper formats into digital files or database systems
• Type medical information derived from provided sources into a predefined medical

database

• Make templates of all reporting formats Inpatient and Day Care discharge summaries
• Verify, correct, and delete unnecessary data, or redundant data 
• Record and save all entered information as a backup
• Keep records of tasks, files and proofread reports
• Check online investigations and prepare reports on time
• Request further information that is deemed incomplete
• Check completed work for errors or duplicate information before printing finally for

consultant signatures

Job Specifications:

• Qualification High school diploma/Degree
• Experience: 2 to 3 years experienced person in hospitals as a Typist, Data Entry Clerk, or Data Entry operator
• Technical Skills / Job related skills: Record Management, typing speed of minimum 25 WPM, ability to spot errors in the content, analytical acumen and good computer skills
• Management Skills: Be a good team player, maintain good people relations
• Communication Skills: Good command over English
