Network (Support) Engineer - Field Support

Objectives of this roleInstalling and configuring network hardware, such as routers, switches, and access points.

• Managing data cabling and physical network infrastructure to ensure clean and effective setups.
• Monitoring network performance and analysing metrics to prevent or resolve outages.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues in the network environment.
• Supporting employees with network connectivity problems and providing technical guidance.
• Configuring firewalls, security settings, and secure VPN setup to protect sensitive data.
• Collaborating with IT teams to upgrade and expand network infrastructure.
• Documenting network layouts, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Ensuring compliance with network security standards in India.
• Assisting with disaster recovery plans and implementing backup solutions.

Job Responsiblities

• Install and configure network monitoring software and tools like routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points for real-time tracking.
• Manage LAN setup and install a secure Wi-Fi network as required.
• Perform regular maintenance, updates, and backups of network systems; and resolve network slowdowns by analysing bandwidth usage and isolating issues.
• Collaborate with vendors to procure the latest network equipment or updates.
• Educate employees on best practices to prevent unauthorised access or cyber-attacks.
• Maintain accurate records of network configurations, inventory, and network troubleshooting activities.
• Assist in planning and deploying upgrades or expansions of network infrastructure and test new configurations or devices in a sandbox environment before implementation.
• Work closely with other IT staff to ensure the integration of network systems with organisational needs.
