Job Description: Senior Accountant (Restaurant)

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to manage the end-to-end financial operations of our restaurant. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the hospitality sector, with a specific focus on reconciling high-volume transactions from online delivery platforms and managing daily cash flows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts using Pet Pooja and Tally

• Prepare monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.

• Manage accounts payable/receivable, ensuring timely payments to vendors and suppliers.

2. Online Platform Management (Swiggy & Zomato)

• Perform daily reconciliation of sales data from Swiggy and Zomato dashboards against bank credits.

• Monitor commission structures, hidden charges, and payout cycles to ensure accuracy.

• Handle dispute management for cancelled orders or payment discrepancies with aggregator partners.

3. Inventory & Cost Control

• Oversee food cost analysis and inventory management to minimize wastage and leakage.

• Conduct regular audits of physical stock versus system records.

• Monitor daily sales reports and perform cash-in-hand reconciliations.

4. Statutory Compliance

• Ensure timely filing of GST (GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B) specifically related to the restaurant industry.

• Handle TDS deductions, PF/ESI filings, and professional tax compliance.

• Coordinate with auditors for year-end finalization and tax assessments.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.

• Experience: 5+ years of experience, with at least 2 years in a restaurant or retail environment.

• Technical Proficiency:

• Expert knowledge of Tally Prime and Microsoft Excel (Advanced formulas, Pivot tables).

• Proficiency in navigating Swiggy and Zomato merchant partner dashboards.

• Experience with POS (Point of Sale) software integration.

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, integrity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Proximity to North Bengaluru/Hennur is a plus.
