Job Description
Learning Matters is an education technology company. We develop digital and non digital school transformation solutions. We collaborate closely with schools and vocational training institutions to enhance teacher competency and improve student learning outcomes. We are hiring a Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Associate to be based in Bangalore, Karnataka, but with ability to travel across the country.
The Monitoring & Evaluation (MEL) Associate will support the design, implementation, and tracking of programme effectiveness. The role involves working closely with schools, field teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality data collection and evidence-based decision-making.
I. Key responsibilities
- Design, pilot and implement M&E protocols as required.
- Ensure the MEL framework is implemented as per defined protocols.
- Coordinate with schools to plan and conduct data collection activities.
- Train and support field teams on effective and accurate data collection practises.
- Monitor data quality to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
- Support programme teams in administering assessments.
- Strengthen documentation systems, including capturing qualitative evidence.
- Conduct primary and secondary research to improve programme requirements.
- Tracking and reporting programmes progress regularly using data insights.
II. Qualifications / Work experience
- Graduate / Post graduate degree in Social Work/Development Studies/Education, or related fields.
- 3-4 years of relevant working experience in the education sector.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation, using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Familiarity with data collection and analysis tools.
III. Additional requirements for the role:
- Experience in data management systems is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills in English. Proficiency in Kannada, Tamil and/or Hindi is preferred.
- Interest in education and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong planning, coordination and organisational skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently to project locations.
