Barista Job Description

Customer Service & Communication

• Excellent verbal communication skills

• Professional customer interaction

• Handle feedback and complaints effectively

• Build positive customer relationships

Coffee Knowledge & Brewing Skills

• Knowledge of coffee origins and roast profiles

• Espresso extraction and milk steaming

• Manual brewing methods (V60, French Press, AeroPress, Cold Brew)

• Maintain beverage quality and consistency

Upselling & Sales

• Promote menu items and add-ons

• Recommend food and beverage pairings

• Support sales growth through customer engagement

Flexibility & Reliability

• Flexible with shifts, weekends, and holidays

• Punctual and dependable

• Support operations during busy periods

Grooming & Hygiene

• Professional appearance

• Follow food safety standards

• Maintain clean workstations and equipment

Inventory & Operations

• Monitor stock levels

• Assist with inventory counts

• Follow opening and closing procedures

Ownership & Responsibility

• Take ownership of daily café operations

• Show initiative and accountability
