Overview
A computer operator manages the day-to-day running of computer systems, networks, and equipment in an organization. They ensure systems function efficiently, handle errors, and maintain data integrity.
- Key Responsibilities:Monitor computer systems, servers, and networks to ensure proper operation
- Control and operate peripheral equipment such as printers, disk drives, and backup systems
- Execute scheduled tasks like system backups, data processing, and batch jobs
- Detect and resolve system errors or malfunctions
- Maintain logs of system performance, errors, and activities
- Install and update software applications as required
- Ensure data security and confidentiality
- Assist technical teams in troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines
