Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Fabric Buyer to source, evaluate, and procure high-quality fabrics aligned with our design and production needs. This role requires strong market awareness, frequent travel to vendor locations, and close collaboration with design, merchandising, and production teams to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new fabric vendors based on quality, cost, reliability, and innovation.
• Travel to domestic international markets to source fabrics and build supplier relationships.
• Work closely with design and product teams to understand fabric requirements for new collections.
• Translate design briefs into sourcing strategies, ensuring alignment with trends, quality standards, and budgets.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and minimum order quantities with suppliers.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders including design, production, merchandising, and quality teams.
• Manage sampling processes, including fabric swatches, lab dips, and approvals.
• Track fabric orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any supply chain issues.
• Maintain updated vendor database, fabric libraries, and sourcing records.
• Stay informed about market trends, new materials, sustainability practices, and innovations in textiles.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and sustainability goals.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, (preferred) Textile Technology, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in fabric sourcing or textile procurement.
• Strong knowledge of fabric types, construction, and textile processes.
• Proven experience working with vendors and negotiating contracts.
• Willingness to travel frequently.
