MEP Design Engineer

Job Title: MEP Design Engineer (Commercial Office Interiors)

Role Overview: Responsible for designing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for corporate and commercial office spaces, ensuring seamless integration with interior design aesthetics and compliance with building codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Systems: Design HVAC, electrical layout, fire-fighting, plumbing, and public health systems for premium office spaces.
• Prepare Layouts: Create detailed 2D/3D MEP drawings, single line diagrams (SLDs), and schematics using AutoCAD or Revit.
• Estimate Quantities: Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimations, and technical specifications for tender and execution.
• Site Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, interior designers, and site engineers to resolve on-site execution conflicts.
• Vendor Management: Evaluate vendor technical submissions, equipment data sheets, and approve MEP materials.
• Ensure Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with local building regulations, NBC (National Building Code), and safety standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 3 to 6 years of experience specifically in commercial office design and build or fit-out projects.
• Software Skills: High proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and specialized design software (like HAP for HVAC load calculations).
• Core Knowledge: Strong understanding of interior fit-out constraints, acoustic isolation, and aesthetic integration of MEP services.
