Job SummaryThe Quality Control Line Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all machined aerospace components conform to customer specifications, engineering drawings, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The role involves in-process inspection, final inspection support, documentation review, and maintaining compliance with AS9100, customer-specific requirements, and internal quality procedures.
- Key ResponsibilitiesIn-Process InspectionPerform first-off, in-process, and final inspections of CNC machined components.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, and visual requirements as per engineering drawings.
- Conduct patrol inspections on shop floor production activities.
- Ensure process compliance during machining operations.
- Measurement & TestingUse precision measuring instruments including:
- Vernier Calipers
- Micrometers (Inside & Outside)
- Bore Gauges
- Height Gauges
- Thread Gauges
- Dial Indicators
- Surface Roughness Testers
- CMM reports interpretation
- Record inspection results accurately and maintain traceability.
- Documentation & Quality RecordsComplete inspection reports, First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, and quality records.
- Review job travelers, process sheets, and inspection plans.
- Maintain calibration status awareness of measuring instruments.
- Ensure proper identification and traceability of parts throughout production.
- Non-Conformance ControlIdentify and segregate non-conforming products.
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Monitor rework and concession activities.
- Compliance & Continuous ImprovementSupport compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer requirements, and aerospace standards.
- Participate in internal audits and process improvement activities.
- Promote quality awareness and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment following 5S practices.
- Required QualificationsDiploma / ITI / BE in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in CNC machining quality inspection.
- Experience in aerospace, precision machining, or automotive manufacturing preferred.
- Technical SkillsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of aerospace machining processes.
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality management systems.
- Understanding of First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements.
- Basic knowledge of SPC, Root Cause Analysis, and CAPA.
- CompetenciesAttention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and reporting abilities.
- Team-oriented approach.
- Ability to work in shifts when required.
