Job title: Advanced Patent Coordinator

In this role, you'll work with IP-Operations - GBS teams, independently manage com-plex patent administrative matters across multiple jurisdictions, and drive process improvements that strengthen our global intellectual property portfolio all while sup-porting the delivery of life-changing treatments to millions of patients.

 

About the department
In Finance, Legal & Global Solutions, we enable Novo Nordisk to fulfil our purpose by safeguarding the business, providing corporate infrastructure, and driving value creation. We are a team of 2,300 colleagues primarily based at our headquarters in Denmark and our Global Business Services centres in India and Mexico. 

 

Within Finance, Legal & Global Solutions sits Corporate Intellectual Property (CIP-GBS), where our team protects the intellectual property that underpins Novo Nordisk's groundbreaking therapies. Working closely with patent attorneys across our global organization, we ensure that the innovations driving change for patients are legally protected in markets around the world. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the integrity of our patent portfolio while building the capabilities of our coordinator team.

 

The position
As an Advanced Patent Coordinator, you'll be a technical expert and trusted advisor within our global patent organization. You'll operate with a high degree of independence, handling sophisticated patent formalities while mentoring others and championing operational excellence.

  • Provide end‑to‑end patent support services to the global patent organization
  • Independently manage formalities for worldwide and Indian patent prosecution, ensuring patents remain in force and protected against third‑party challenges
  • Handle all case‑related correspondence and documentation with high accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate closely with patent attorneys on patent protection, surveillance, and third‑party challenges
  • Supervise, train, and support Patent Coordinators while managing own formality deadlines
  • Drive process improvements, operational efficiencies, and global best‑practice sharing across DK, US, and IN teams
  • Support transition of patent coordination processes to CIP‑GBS and demonstrate readiness for global process ownership
  • Stay current on patent laws and rules and proactively advise attorneys and global stakeholders
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in ANAQUA with ownership of end to end case management and data quality within the system

 

Qualifications
We're seeking an Advanced Patent Coordinator who thrives on precision, process excellence, and developing others. To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in any discipline with an excellent academic record
  • At least 5+ years of experience as a Patent Coordinator, preferably in a multinational company or law firm, with demonstrated zero-error performance
  • Hands on experience with ANAQUA or a comparable patent management system, including end to end case handling and data maintenance
  • Solid knowledge of patent formal matters related to the European Patent Office (EPO), Indian Patent Office (IPO), PCT and USPTO procedures
  • Proven experience supervising and training junior colleagues, with the ability to assess skill levels and provide constructive feedback
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to accurately extract and enter relevant information from diverse patent and non-patent sourcesExcellent written and spoken English communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with global stakeholders
  • Strong process-based thinking and problem-solving skills, with curiosity to question processes and propose innovative solutions
  • Experience coordinating with patent professionals on a global scale and robust quality-checking capabilities
