Job description

Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Manager to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of critical business applications for Hitachi, Ltd. This role involves overseeing application lifecycle management, ensuring system stability and performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to support business objectives.

Job Responsibilities**

* Lead and manage a team of application developers, engineers, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
* Oversee the entire application lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs, translate them into technical requirements, and deliver solutions that align with business strategy.
* Ensure the stability, security, and performance of all assigned applications, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
* Develop and implement application roadmaps, strategies, and best practices.
* Manage application budgets, resources, and vendor relationships.
* Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance application capabilities and efficiency.
* Establish and maintain strong documentation for all applications and processes.
* Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
* Participate in incident management and problem resolution, ensuring timely restoration of services.

Job Qualifications**

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in application development and management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
* Proven experience with enterprise-level application systems and architecture.
* Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
* Proficiency in various programming languages and databases (e.g., Java, Python, .NET, SQL, Oracle).
* Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
* ITIL certification or similar IT service management framework knowledge is a plus.
