Goldman Sachs Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) delivers investment and advisory services across regions, markets and a diverse set of asset class which include real estate, credit, corporate equity, growth equity, infrastructure, sustainability, among others. Alts Growth / Corp Equity Investing, a dedicated platform within Goldman Sachs AWM, partners with private companies to build enduring, category-defining businesses. The team leverages the global network, deep sector expertise, and institutional resources of Goldman Sachs to identify, invest in, and scale high-conviction opportunities across the growth and corporate equity landscape.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Alts Growth / Corp Equity team is seeking Analysts / Associates to join a high-impact investing platform focused on equity investing and active asset management across a large, diverse, and dynamic portfolio. The selected individual will play an integral role in all phases of the investment lifecycle — from deal origination through portfolio value creation
Deal Sourcing and Pipeline Development:
- Source, screen, and evaluate investment opportunities in private companies across target sectors including AI, Business Services, Financial Services, IT / ITeS, Healthcare, and Consumer / Consumer Derivatives
- Proactively build and manage a robust top-of-funnel pipeline through primary and secondary market research, developing sector-specific thematic reports and conducting rigorous market analyses to identify high-potential opportunities
- Leverage a strong foundational understanding of business operations, financial statements, and technology / software business models to assess company quality and strategic fit
Deal Evaluation and Underwriting
- Develop compelling investment theses, memoranda, and supporting materials to evaluate opportunities and present actionable recommendations to the Investment Committee (IC)
- Build and synthesize critical analyses during the business diligence phase, including historical growth and margin trends, core KPIs, unit economics, cohort and retention analysis, financial projections, and projected returns
- Coordinate across internal cross-functional teams and third-party diligence vendors to drive timely completion of all due diligence workstreams and deal execution milestones
Portfolio Management and Value Creation
- Prepare and present periodic portfolio monitoring memoranda, encompassing company performance updates, public peer benchmarking, variance analysis of actual results versus projections, and key developments with implications for investment performance
- Maintain and continuously refine portfolio company financial models, including unit economics, business performance trackers, market landscape updates, and models supporting secondary and follow-on investment decisions
- Design and execute strategic initiatives focused on process automation of portfolio monitoring, reporting workflows, and performance tracking activities to enhance operational efficiency
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Strong academic background with an MBA in Finance; Additional CA / CFA degree would be preferred
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and verbal & writing capabilities
- Strong team orientation with a commitment to excellence, integrity, and collaboration
- Must have the ability to operate effectively with various stakeholders in multiple groups and regions
- Experience in relevant roles such as Private equity, Investment banking, Equity research, would be preferred
