Deputy Manager - Technical Maintenance and Project Execution

Assistant Manager.

Role Summary:  The Deputy Manager (Technical) will lead central technical support for 25–30 subcontracting operations engaged in Roto moulding, Injection Moulding, and PVC Extrusion. The role ensures high machine availability through strong maintenance governance, project execution, capability building, asset management, and documentation control. The candidate must have minimum 5 years of Roto moulding experience with a total of 10+ years in plastic processing operations.

Roles and Responsibility: .

A.  Maintenance & Machine Availability

• Establish and govern Preventive/Periodic Maintenance (PM) schedules across all subcontractor units.

• Monitor and improve machine uptime, ensuring adherence to availability KPIs.

• Lead breakdown analysis, root-cause identification, and implementation of corrective actions.

• Ensure all maintenance logs, breakdown records, PM checklists, and documentation are updated and audit ready.

• Provide technical troubleshooting support to subcontractor teams.

B. Asset Management & Asset Care

• Maintain complete and accurate asset master data for machines, utilities, moulds, and equipment.

• Ensure subcontractors follow defined asset care standards on cleaning, lubrication, calibration, alignment, and condition monitoring.

• Conduct annual asset condition assessments and drive improvement actions.

• Monitor asset utilization and movement across subcontractor facilities.

C. Project Execution & Capacity Expansion

• Lead technical evaluation for new machines and capacity expansion proposals.

• Oversee installation, commissioning, and stabilization of Rotomoulding, Injection Moulding, and PVC Extrusion equipment.

• Coordinate with OEMs, engineering teams, internal stakeholders, and subcontractors for project execution.

• Ensure SOPs, trial reports, and validation protocols are prepared and maintained.

D. Spares, Utilities & Technical Governance

• Govern and standardize critical spares planning and stocking norms across subcontractors.

• Conduct audits on spare consumption, reorder planning, and stock levels.

• Provide guidance on utilities such as compressors, chillers, blenders, dryers, and grinders.

• Standardise maintenance practices, machine settings, and technical SOPs.

E. Subcontractor Support & Performance Improvement

• Conduct regular technical audits on maintenance, safety, documentation, and machine condition.

• Identify performance gaps and support subcontractor teams in closing them through structured interventions.

• Support Operations & Quality teams in resolving recurring defects or chronic technical issues.

Requirement

• 5-10 years in maintenance of Rotomoulding, Injection Moulding & PVC Extrusion

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Plastics Engineering or equivalent as educational qualification

• Strong technical problem-solving capability.

• In-depth knowledge of maintenance systems, RCA methodology, and asset management practices.

• Good vendor coordination and project execution skills.

• Ability to train, coach, and influence subcontractor technical teams.

• Strong documentation and governance orientation.

• Willingness to travel extensively (40–50%).
