Business Analyst

You and your team:

Commodities Content Business Analyst provides support; skills and specific knowledge within various Commodities Asset Classes to build and maintain the content on Commodities DBoR. The team functions out of Bangalore and Gdynia operations centers. Wider Commodities Content team supports pricing and the fundamentals' data for Commodities globally, gathering and maintaining data about prices, physical assets; production and consumption, as well as trading and flow statistics.

Our team supplies top quality commodities information and you will play a crucial role in building the data onto our systems collaborating with the technology as well as other content teams. Apart from external clients the content is also used by internal research teams, which deliver analysis and forecasts to the customers. Hence, the role involves active collaboration with such teams to understand specific needs and the business requirements and make LSEG Commodities products that much better for our customers.

Crucial day- to - day responsibilities: 

  • Review Business requirements for new projects; undertake research and write functional specifications for new content on-boarding and improvements to existing content.

  • Lead Content Enhancements projects of medium scope and moderate complexity from Definition to Delivery.

  • Take lead for end to end client query resolution when Business Analyst expertise is required.

  • Develop content and market expertise by researching new content; interacting with data suppliers externally and content team internally.

  • Develop expertise on new content management tools & infrastructure and apply the same while working on projects.

  • Lead, use your skills and creativity in developing new methods of working which focus on effectiveness & resource efficiency.

  • Ensure awareness of customer views on content & recommend improvements/call out problems as needed.

  • Support migration programs and participate to provide specifications for the new technology solutions & infrastructures, helping for the implementations, monitoring & testing.

  • Connect and collaborate with asset class Research and Forecast teams; Propositions team; Content Management team as well as On-boarding Development team to understand business requirements and align deliveries accordingly.  

Required Skills: 

  • Experience in corporate and/or multi-cultural/international environment

  • Quick learner and has the ability to perform research to understand content via source websites, available documentations and confident in contacting sources externally and teams internally.

  • Must have working project management and presentation skills.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills able to address audiences at all levels.

  • Good understanding of Commodities Fundamentals and/or Pricing Content

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Excel & VBA.

  • Solid understanding of LSEG products like Eikon, Workspace and Point Connect.

  • Technical skills - SQL and Python

  • Understanding Product Testing principles and standards

  • Previous experience on Commodities Database (CDB) with solid grasp of CDB meta, loader/parser frameworks
