What you'll do
As a Data Modeller, you’ll be responsible for defining, maintaining, and improving data models. You’ll support data architects with solutions, and you’ll contribute to data quality investigations. You’ll also support subject matter experts and data owners in managing content.
As well as this you’ll:
- Collaborate with business analysts and data management specialists to translate data requirements
- Take ownership for data modelling and data contract creation
- Adopt the enterprise data model and standards
- Identify and mitigate potential data risks
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for a someone with strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills and experience in data modelling or data architecture. You’ll need at least twelve years of experience in data modelling. You’ll need experience in designing and maintaining canonical semantic logical and physical data models supporting analytics reporting regulatory and operational use cases. You’ll lead modelling for cloud data platforms using AWS technologies including S3 Glue Glue Data Catalog Lake Formation Athena Redshift or Snowflake DynamoDB and streaming with Kinesis or MSK using patterns such as 3NF dimensional models and Data Vault.
You’ll need experience in defining modelling standards metadata and governance embedding data quality lineage security and compliance by design. You’ll need experience in useing data modelling tools such as ER Studio ERwin PowerDesigner or similar and work with SQL PySpark and BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau. You’ll need exposure to event driven architectures using Kafka or MSK or Kinesis awareness of banking data regulations such as GDPR or UK GDPR MiFID II and conduct risk and experience in retail banking or broader financial services.
Furthermore, you’ll demonstrate:
- An understanding of data modelling methodologies including 3NF, Dimensional, Data Vault, Key-Value pair, and NoSQL Document Store
- An understanding of one or more industry models such as IFW, Teradata, IFW, or BIAN
- Knowledge of data product management, data management, metadata management, data lineage management, and data definitions
