Role Overview

• Design and build internal frameworks and tooling to support the development and operations lifecycle.

• Create test automation frameworks, observability/debugging utilities, and deployment support tools.

• Collaborate with developers, infra, and support engineers to identify friction points and solve them with well-designed tools.

• Work across multiple codebases, understanding backend services and contributing enhancements to make them more operable.

• Be comfortable starting projects from scratch and seeing them through to adoption.

• Evangelize best practices for code quality, testability, automation, and reliability across engineering teams.

Must Haves

• 6+ years of experience building frameworks, CLIs, SDKs, or developer-facing libraries/tools.

• Strong coding ability in one or more languages (Python, Java preferred).

• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (CI/CD, testing, debugging).

• Good understanding of system design concepts (APIs, databases, distributed systems fundamentals, Infrastructure as Code).

• Experience with cloud environments (AWS).

• Temperament to design and iterate on tools based on feedback.

• Good communication skills — ability to work across engineering, product, infra, and support teams.

Good to Have

• Familiarity with monitoring/logging systems (Grafana, Prometheus, Otel, Influx).

• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).

• Past contributions to internal tooling or open-source developer tools.

• Familiarity with large-scale distributed systems and their testing challenges.
