Finance Business Partner - COO

Description

Reporting directly to the Global Head of FP&A, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced VP finance professional to work in a high calibre team and to develop a COO (currently IT, Ops and Facilities) level finance reporting, cost analytics, planning and reporting framework. Emphasis is on elevating cost analysis, cost optimisation opportunities and provide greater insight and analysis.

A key focus is to build out monthly P&L analysis, especially cost tracking for key initiatives, and to provide insights and drivers for month-on-month variances and variances to plan.  The role will set the COO planning in line with the group’s guidelines for cost planning and forecasting, lead on reporting strategic cost initiatives, levers to achieve budget and risks/ opportunities.

Ability to communicate with senior stakeholders, including the COO and direct reports, is key.

Job specification

Build executive presence and daily interaction with senior stakeholders. Stakeholders include:

  • Chief Operating Officer and Country Heads of Operations
  • Group CEO, Group CFO and Group CHRO
  • Regional Finance Heads and Regional Finance Teams
  • Chief Business Officer and Regional Business Heads

Produce Monthly Results covering:

  • COO remit P&L reviews including key messaging (CM vs PM/PY/Plan/FC)
  • Monthly COO flash, using inputs from FP&A Business Partners

Run the Annual Plan and Forecasting Process and Reviews:

  • Set the COO remit strategic plan with the COO and direct reports
  • Set out the cost plan guidelines and monitor the plan process
  • Provide insight to the plan
  • Deliver a rolling cost forecast together with the group FP&A team

Ad Hoc:

  • Develop and assist with rolling out IT/Ops/Facilities BI reporting
  • Board, Lender, CEO and CFO queries
  • Regular interaction with regional teams on expense related topics

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft suite of products, particularly Excel and presentations
  • Demonstrable success in delivering expense plans
  • Good communication and writing skills to support commentary for senior executives
  • Knowledge of Workday and Adaptive Planning (group management reporting system) an added advantage
  • Attention to details
  • Minimum 10 years Post Qualification experience
  • Demonstrable Team Player in a Global Team
  • Build excellent working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Motivate and empower team members by building their capabilities
  • Ensure reporting deliverables are produced and reviewed to a high standard and delivered in a timely manner
  • Encourage a healthy working environment for the team
