Job Description

Financial Analyst Associate II

Associate Financial Analyst II

Are you passionate about financial analysis in a global reinsurance environment? Join our dynamic team where your analytical skills will help shape strategic business decisions across our Life & Health portfolio. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders worldwide, turning complex financial data into actionable insights that drive business performance.

About the Role

As an Associate Financial Analyst II in our analyst pool, you'll be at the intersection of finance and business strategy, supporting market units and client managers in steering their portfolios to success. You'll gain exposure to global markets while focusing on a specific region (Americas, EMEA, or Asia) and working within its corresponding time zone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and analyze quarterly projections for L&H based on market submissions, reviewing results against actual outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Valuation, and Client Markets colleagues on deal pipeline analyses and renewal data
  • Identify and explain key performance drivers across markets, clients, and lines of business
  • Translate complex data into accessible presentations for stakeholders not deeply involved with financial data
  • Apply knowledge of IFRS17 and end-to-end business operations to enhance financial reporting processes

About the Team

The L&H Finance Operations Team in Bangalore is a vital component of our global financial operations.  Our dynamic and agile team works collaboratively to provide insights that drive strategic decision-making across the business. As a Financial Analyst, you'll help manage stakeholder data requests and conduct in-depth analysis of financial quarterly projections.

About You

You're an analytical thinker who thrives in a collaborative environment. Your attention to detail is balanced with an ability to see the bigger picture, and you're eager to apply your financial expertise in a global reinsurance context. You communicate complex concepts clearly and enjoy working with diverse teams to solve challenging problems.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • MBA (Finance) preferred; university degree in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or similar field
  • 2-3 years of experience in Finance, ideally within Life and Health Insurance or Reinsurance
  • Exceptional analytical skills with strong data processing and conceptual abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Copilot, Chat GPT, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effective in both team and one-on-one settings

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Familiarity with financial reporting processes and frameworks under IFRS
  • Knowledge of insurance product risk selection and reward frameworks
  • Actuarial training or background
  • Understanding of earnings sources, income statements, and balance sheets
  • Experience with end-to-end business and financial operations
  • Adaptability to changing environments and comfort with ambiguity
  • Self-assured approach when collaborating with internal clients and senior colleagues
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for working in a global, multicultural setting

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week
