What you’ll do:

Responsibilities:

• Provides expertise across Mechanical and/or Thermal commodities by understanding internal business divisions and external industry / technology trends ; aligns internal objectives with external realities to maximize efficiencies of technologies, processes, and solutions
• Focuses on development activities and introducing new suppliers, processes, programs, and methods to push limits of existing technology (Including Sheetmetal, Diecast, Heatsinks, Liquid Cooling, Fans etc )
• Monitors and analyzes owned commodities & suppliers, delivery solutions, processes and technology linkages, and key metrics in order to drive commodity strategies, improve efficiencies, and ensure that strategic objectives are realized.
• Define supplier strategies, selection criteria, work with team on selecting supply base and develop targeted preferred supplier list, AVL mgmt.
• Negotiate and execute NDA, Master Purchase Agreements, SoW and/or Joint Development Agreements
• Scorecard suppliers and lead business reviews with HPE and Supplier Executives
• Lead annual negotiations & executive participation as needed to achieve annual cost reductions
• Identify sourcing opportunities and negotiate world class pricing and terms.
• Responsible for both NPI & sustaining business - Drive RFIs and RFPs, and business awards for Mech and/or Thermal solutions
• Define cost drivers, develop cost models, and establish should cost.
• Drive value engineering + design for value activities with a cross functional team.
• Understand current market pricing and dynamics of competitive landscape, bring back market intelligence to key stakeholders
• Coordinates global and regional experts to deliver strategies.

What you need to bring:

Education and Experience Required:

• Minimum BE / BTech / BS (Thermal, Material Science, Mechanical, Industrial Engg) with combined 12-15+ years of Sourcing / Manufacturing / Engineering Experience.
• Preferred Masters in Engineering and/or MBA with 12-15+ years of Mechanical and/or Thermal Global Commodity Management, preferred experience in Manufacturing or Management experience in telecom/networking space.
• Global procurement experience required.
• Experiences reflect ability to work across multiple programs , products, teams & commodities

Knowledge and Skills:

• Highly proficient in English oral & written communication
• Direct Sourcing experience in Mechanical and/or Thermal commodities.
• Experience in Heatsink, Fans , Liquid cooling would be highly preferred. A minimum of sourcing in sheetmetal, diecast , machining etc in complex products in mandatory
• Strong knowledge mechanical / thermal solutions as it applies to Networking equipment would be highly preferred
• Advanced analytical and technical aptitude.
• Strong business application skills.
• Advanced communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to drive and close cross-functional project initiatives
