Senior Manager - AWS Cloud Architect and Pre-Sales Leader

Job Description & Summary 
 
We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused AWS Architect with strong expertise in cloud solutioning, pre-sales engagement, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing enterprise-scale AWS cloud architectures, leading technical discussions with customers and understanding the customer’s requirement, supporting sales teams, and managing high-performing cloud engineering or consulting teams.  
 
This role requires a blend of deep technical capability, business understanding, stakeholder management, and leadership skills to drive cloud transformation initiatives for enterprise customers. 
 

Responsibilities 

Cloud Architecture & Solution Design 

• Design scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-optimized solutions on Amazon Web Services. 

• Lead architecture discussions, cloud assessments, migration strategies, and modernization initiatives. 

• Develop reference architectures, HLDs/LLDs, and cloud adoption roadmaps. 

• Provide guidance on AWS services including: 

• Compute, Networking, Storage and Databases 

• IAM & Security 

• Containers & Kubernetes 

• Serverless Architecture 

• DevOps & Automation 

• Backup & Disaster Recovery 

• Monitoring & Observability 

• FinOps 

Pre-Sales & Customer Engagement 

• Work closely with sales/account teams during customer engagements and RFP/RFI responses. 

• Conduct technical discovery sessions, workshops, and solution presentations for enterprise clients. 

• Translate business requirements into technical cloud solutions and migration strategies. 

• Participate in solution estimations, pricing discussions, and proposal creation. 
  Build customer confidence through architecture reviews, PoCs, and demos. 
   

Leadership & Team Management 

• Lead and mentor cloud architects, engineers, and consultants. 

• Manage resource planning, delivery oversight, and technical governance. 

• Drive best practices, architecture standards, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. 

• Collaborate across cross-functional teams including delivery, security, operations, and sales. 

• Support hiring, capability development, and performance management activities. 

Governance & Strategy 

• Ensure cloud solutions comply with security, compliance, and operational standards. 

• Define cloud governance frameworks and optimization strategies. 

• Support multi-cloud or hybrid cloud strategy discussions where required. 

Mandatory Skill Sets

Strong hands-on experience with AWS architecture and cloud transformation projects. 

• Expertise in AWS services such as: 

• EC2, VPC, S3, RDS 

• Lambda, ECS/EKS 

• CloudFormation/Terraform 

• Route 53, ELB, API Gateway 

• CloudWatch, IAM, GuardDuty 

• Good understanding of: 

• Kubernetes & Containers 

• CI/CD pipelines 

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) 

• Networking & Security concepts 

• Disaster Recovery & High Availability architectures 
   

Experience handling enterprise customers and strategic accounts. 

• Strong presentation, proposal-writing, and stakeholder management skills. 

• Experience supporting large deals, bid management, and solution estimation. 

Proven experience managing technical teams and customer-facing engagements. 

• Strong communication, mentoring, and conflict-resolution abilities. 

• Ability to drive technical strategy and delivery excellence. 

Preferred Skill sets 

AWS Certifications such as: 

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional 

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer 

• AWS Security Specialty 

• Experience with hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments. 

• Exposure to industries such as BFSI, Healthcare, Retail, Telecom, or Manufacturing is preferred. 

Years of Experience Required:

Education Qualification 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
