• Primary skills:Technology->Functional Testing->Mainframe testing • Knowledge of more than one technology • Basics of Architecture and Design fundamentals • Knowledge of Testing tools • Knowledge of agile methodologies • Understanding of Project life cycle activities on development and maintenance projects • Understanding of one or more Estimation methodologies, Knowledge of Quality processes • Basics of business domain to understand the business requirements • Analytical abilities, Strong Technical Skills, Good communication skills • Good understanding of the technology and domain • Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of software quality assurance principles, SOLID design principles and modelling methods • Awareness of latest technologies and trends • Excellent problem solving, analytical and debugging skills nd-to-end mainframe testing activities for COBOL-based applications, including test planning, design, execution, and reporting. • Analyze business and technical requirements to define comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and data requirements for mainframe systems. • Coordinate and oversee system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing for mainframe components. • Collaborate with development, architecture, and business teams to identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and drive timely resolutions. • Ensure test coverage for batch jobs, online transactions, file processing, and database interactions in mainframe environments. • Implement and enforce testing standards, best practices, and quality metrics appropriate for 5–15 years of experience at a lead level. • Mentor and guide junior testers, providing technical leadership in mainframe testing techniques and tools. • Participate in impact analysis for change requests and releases, estimating testing effort and planning resources accordingly. • Prepare clear test reports, defect metrics, and status updates for stakeholders and management. • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, including test optimization, reusability, and risk-based testing approaches.
