Join us as a Lead Enterprise Architect
- We’ll look to you to define and evolve the bank’s strategic target architecture and roadmap, aligning technology with business strategy and transformation priorities
- You’ll lead collaborative architecture decision-making, partnering with business and technology leaders to shape the bank’s long-term direction
- With significant exposure, you’ll build and influence relationships with senior stakeholders, vendors, and industry leaders
- We're offering this role at director level
What you'll do
As a Lead Enterprise Architect, you’ll architect customer centric, high performance, secure, robust and sustainable end to end digital products, solutions, and services that deliver business value while aligning to the bank’s strategic target architecture.
You’ll be actively contributing to the growth of architecting capability and the community across the bank through thought leadership, knowledge sharing, contributing to the community of practice, and building capability in others through coaching, mentoring and teaching.
As well as this, you’ll be:
- Lead architecture governance and design reviews for high-impact or high-risk programmes
- Ensure solutions align with business needs and comply with enterprise architecture principles, standards, and patterns
- Shape and influence strategic investment programmes, identifying opportunities for simplification, reuse, and innovation
- Drive adoption of emerging technologies by assessing trends and their impact on the bank
- Partner with senior stakeholders to define and deliver business-driven change across an aligned portfolio
- Lead and influence cross-functional technical teams to deliver architecture outcomes effectively
- Manage risk associated with change implementation, ensuring business readiness and operational stability
- Support demand forecasting and resource planning across the portfolio
- Embed DevOps and modern engineering practices, integrating architecture into delivery pipelines
- Track architecture outcomes and transformation impact using data and insight to ensure value realisation
- Continuously refine architecture approaches through stakeholder feedback and delivery learnings
- Provide clear updates and strategic insights to senior stakeholders on architecture direction, progress, and outcomes
- Grow architectural capability through coaching, mentoring, and thought leadership
The skills you'll need
To succeed in this role, you’ll need expert knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, modern technologies such as Cloud, microservices and AI, agile architecture and DevOps practices, including a deep understanding of business use cases and emerging trends that drive organisational success.
You’ll bring extensive experience of defining and developing strategic target architectures that align with organisational objectives. This will include experience of engaging with partners across the organisation to define architectures that deliver tangible business outcomes.
You’ll also demonstrate:
- Extensive experience defining and delivering target architectures aligned to strategic goals
- Strong leadership across large-scale transformation and infrastructure-led change
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead collaborative decision-making
- Experience developing business cases and securing investment for strategic initiatives
- Expertise in architecture governance, risk management, and quality assurance
- A track record of driving standardisation, resilience, and continuous improvement
- Experience building and developing high-performing architecture communities
