THE ROLE

As a Member of Technical Staff in the Production Engineering team, you will be the lead architect of a frictionless developer journey. Your mission is to design and deliver high-performance, scalable productivity tools that empower Pure Storage engineers to innovate at peak velocity. This is a senior technical leadership role where you will drive the convergence of legacy systems into modern, unified solutions, ensuring our development ecosystem is as robust and advanced as the storage technology we build.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Architect the Unified "Golden Path": Drive the modernization and convergence of legacy developer tools into high-performance, unified solutions primarily leveraging Go and Python.

• Engineer OS-Agnostic Tooling: Design and maintain mission-critical tools that function seamlessly across Windows, Linux, and Mac, ensuring a consistent experience for a diverse engineering global workforce.

• Scale Testing Capabilities: Collaborate with test infrastructure and product teams to build tools that handle extreme scale and corruption testing across multiple storage protocols.

• Embed Diagnostic Intelligence: Ensure robust testability and "triage-first" design are baked into every tool, enabling rapid, automated diagnosis of complex distributed system failures.

• Lead Technical Evolution: Proactively identify tooling gaps and mentor junior engineers while providing high-level design and code reviews that set the technical bar for the entire Platform Engineering organization.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Deep Systems Engineering Expertise: A strong background in complex systems software, such as Distributed Systems, Linux Kernel, Hypervisors, or Containers, with a track record of delivering high-impact projects.

• Technical Mastery of Go and Python: Advanced proficiency in building scalable tools, performance benchmarking, and automation frameworks that support thousands of concurrent users.

• Proven Cross-Domain Leadership: Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex projects from ideation to delivery while influencing stakeholders across multiple engineering departments.

• Mentorship and Technical Culture: Experience growing senior and junior engineering talent and a passion for shaping a high-performance technical culture through rigorous design and code reviews.

• Bengaluru-Based Collaboration: We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Bengaluru (Blr) office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
