ProC Developer - Technical Specialist-Data Engg

Area(s) of responsibility

A ProC Developer specializes in designing, developing, and maintaining robust database solutions especially stored procedures, functions, triggers using Pro*C/PL-SQL within Oracle or similar environments. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into efficient, scalable, and secure systems.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Implementation

Design, code, and maintain Pro*C modules, Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, and packages.
Collaborate with application developers and business analysts to analyze requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

Performance Optimization & Testing

Optimize SQL queries, tune database performance, and ensure efficient execution.
Conduct unit testing, end-to-end testing, and assist QA teams in debugging database issues.

Support & Maintenance

Provide on-call production support, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve server/service issues.
Monitor database health, maintain backup/recovery procedures, and implement security controls.

Documentation & Best Practices

Create clear technical documentation and follow coding standards, version control (Git), and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.

Improvement & Collaboration

Gather feedback, identify process improvements, and propose enhancements to database architecture.
Work in Agile/Scrum environments and participate in regular sprint planning and code reviews.

Database Expertise

Deep experience with SQL performance tuning, indexing strategies, and optimization techniques
