Senior Analyst - Global Payments

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Possess a strong working knowledge of SWIFT payments (MT103, MT202), FED payments, internal transfers, and FX transactions.
  • Demonstrate sound understanding of global banking identifiers and settlement systems, including ABA, Sort Code, BSB, BIC, IBAN, RTGS, NEFT, and other international clearing methods.
  • Manage manual payment / wire processing, with a clear understanding of end-to-end payment flows.
  • Interpret Standard Settlement Instructions (SSIs) and identify missing, incorrect, or non‑compliant details.
  • Perform fund-related vendor invoice verification and initiate payments through secure banking portals.
  • Review and validate custody and fund-related bank invoices.
  • Process payments related to fund subscriptions and redemptions.
  • Monitor shared mailboxes and prioritize payments based on currency cut-off times and urgency.
  • Support global offices and clients with daily payment processing requirements.
  • Respond to client and local office queries via email and phone in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure daily processing is completed, reconciled, and signed off within SLA timelines.
  • Proactively report and escalate critical issues, risks, or payment blocks to management.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team player, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Maintain flexibility to work in rotational or extended shifts as required by business needs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com), MBA, or an equivalent qualification.
  • 2–9 years of relevant experience in Payments, Banking, Treasury, or Fund Operations.
  • Hands-on experience with SWIFT and FED payment processing.
  • Strong exposure to FX payment processing, investigations, and exception handling.
  • Knowledge of Hedge Funds and Private Equity operations is an added advantage.
  • Prior experience in Transfer Agency operations is highly desirable.
  • Master’s degree in commerce is preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of ownership and accountability for client deliverables.
  • Proficient in a Windows environment with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to draft clear, concise, and accurate payment-related communications.
  • Strong research, investigation, and resolution capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and resolve issues collaboratively.
  • Effective presentation, listening, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Strong self-management attributes, including adaptability, resilience, integrity, and ethics.
  • High motivation, persistence, and focus on achieving results.
  • Demonstrates innovative and logical thinking in decision-making and issue resolution.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts aligned with global business requirements.
