Senior Associate-Business license

Senior Associate
Business Unit: Business License
Service Line: Indirect Tax
Location: Kochi / Bangalore / Hyderabad / Gurgaon
Geo to be supported: US
Role type: Individual contributor
Reporting to: Assistant Manager / Manager
Work timings: 8.30 AM to 5.30 PM (may di􀆯er depending on business requirement)

Roles & responsibilities
 Review & Quality Ownership (primary)
o Review business license renewal and registration preparations done by
Associates; ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
o Perform QA checks on tax notices related to licensing/renewals; coordinate
resolutions with client/jurisdictions via the US team.
 Preparation (limited, as required)
o Step in to prepare complex/exception cases or during peak cycles (20% of
time).
 Workflow & Stakeholder Management
o Own workstream reporting, status updates, and issue logs; align delivery
timelines with the US team.
o Document review comments and communicate with Client/US Manager,
close actions on time.
 Knowledge & Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
o Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/knowledge base; maintain
version control; coach Associates on changes.
 Procurement Help Desk (PHD) & Follow-ups (seasoned SAs)
o Execute form procurement and license follow-ups with jurisdictions,
ensuring readiness ahead of due dates.
 Continuous improvement
o Implement small improvements (templates, macros, checklists) and support
Kaizen initiatives.

Educational qualifications
 Master’s degree in Accounts/Finance preferred, proficiency in MS Excel

Mandatory technical & functional skills
 Strong MS O􀆯ice proficiency; advanced Excel (pivots, lookups, data validation).
 Solid understanding of US Indirect Tax (Business Licensing) rules/regulations across
jurisdictions.
 Ability to manage multiple engagements and mentor Associates; prompt
stakeholder communication.
 Awareness of tax law changes; capability to research tax issues and work on special
projects.

 Total: 4–6 years
 Relevant: 2–4 years in Business Licensing.
