Senior Associate-KDNI

Roles & responsibilities

Join a dynamic team supporting the growth of our Family Office practice. As a Consultant based outside Canada, you will work closely with the Montreal team to deliver high-quality bookkeeping, accounting, and tax compliance services for investment companies, trusts, and related entities. Your strong organizational skills and resourcefulness will enable you to manage multiple mandates efficiently, ensuring superior service under the supervision of experienced colleagues.Working as Senior Associate  in this team, your responsibilities will include:

 

 

Review and validate bookkeeping performed by the accounting clerks/bookkeepers to ensure accuracy and complianceHandle investment accounting and reconciliationsFor more complex clients, perform bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online or Caseware:Record cash transactions (inflows and outflows)Reconcile bank accountsRecord purchase/sale invoicesRecord investment portfolio transactions (purchases, sales, distributions, etc.)Prepare trial balancesMaintain amortization schedules for tangible capital assetsReconcile investment income with tax slipsReview inter-company transactions to ensure accuracyImport data into CaseWarePrepare and/or review tax returns (T1, T2, T3, T4-RL1, T5) and related documentationComplete various forms and administrative documents as neededMonitor deadlines and ensure timely follow-upsCollaborate and coordinate closely with the Consultant and Director in charge of the mandate in the Montreal teamContribute to continuous improvement of procedures and support service growthMentor and provide technical guidance to junior offshore staff, if applicable

This role is for you if you have  the below

Educational qualifications

Post-secondary degree in accounting or a related fieldWork ExperienceMinimum of 3-4 years of professional experience, preferably from Financial Services and/ Fund accounting.

Preferred technical & functional skills

Established experience in the accounting cycle and balance sheet reconciliationStrong knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Caseware, iFirm and MS Office SuiteSolid understanding of investment accounting, particularly:Marketable securities and private investmentsKnowledge of limited partnerships and flow-through shares is an assetAbility to work under pressure, manage multiple mandates simultaneously, and meet deadlinesInnovative, adaptable, proactive and detail-oriented
