Senior Internal Auditor

Thomson Reuters is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Internal Auditor to join our Internal Audit team in Bangalore, India. As part of a global, diverse, and energized team, you will help deliver independent, risk-based assurance, effective challenge, and practical insight that protects stakeholder interests. This role offers broad exposure across internal audit, including SOX compliance and fraud investigations, with the opportunity to contribute to our SOX program from day one. About the Role:

  • As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will support digital transformation efforts while strengthening the organization's risk management and control environment.

  • Key responsibilities include modernizing the SOX program, conducting SOX testing across IT and business process controls, identifying control gaps, and recommending practical remediation actions.

  • You will standardize control documentation, collaborate with process owners on risk mitigation and control improvements, and manage the control lifecycle to drive efficiency.

  • The role also includes leading internal audit engagements across various risk areas, supporting fraud investigations, preparing clear audit reports, and using data analytics, automation, AI, and emerging technologies to enhance audit effectiveness.

  • In addition, you will help promote awareness of internal controls and stay current on emerging risks, fraud trends, audit practices, and regulatory requirements.

About You:

  • 3+ years of experience in Audit (External or Internal) and / or Internal Controls, SOX experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of business process control assurance principles

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Problem-solving abilities, adaptability, a growth mindset and a team-player

  • Capable of collaborating globally and managing multiple priorities

  • Experience with data analytics and automation tools is an advantage

  • Relevant professional certifications is preferred

  • Experience in process improvement or transformation is a plus
