As Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank's Markets Research Technology, we look first and foremost for people who are passionate around solving business problems through innovation & engineering practices. In your role, you will be hands on supporting engineering teams across Research Tech AI Engineering successfully manage a growing Data and AI platform. You will drive infra and platform management of existing and new services and applications in the public cloud by maintaining and managing a highly available critical cloud infrastructure and partnering with Engineering, SRE, Architecture, firmwide Data and AIML teams, focusing on the following

Job Responsibilities:

• Drive, support and deliver on a strategy to effectively manage a resilient, secure and high performing Data and AIML platform  
• Improve management, hygiene, reliability, quality, and cost of our platform
• Design and maintain an up-to-date functional architecture for the platform with clear capabilities, ownership and governance model  
• Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve
• Provide primary infrastructure operational, optimization and engineering support for platform, including introducing tooling and processes for effective management
• Collaborate with Engineering team to develop real-world solutions and positive user experiences at every interaction
• Coordinate and manage infrastructure upgrades, migrations, platform/DevOps engineering practices and implement tooling and processes for effective, seamless and fast execution   
• Drive Cost/platform management through the effective design and optimization of public cloud platforms and technologies
• Influence Engineering and architecture decisions through close collaboration, oversight and awareness of firmwide tooling  

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience
• Demonstrated experience working with a major public cloud provider (AWS) and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
• Working knowledge of infrastructure components (e.g. routers, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage, and networking)
• Experience defining non-functional standards and blueprints related to SRE, DevOps and cloud platform engineering.
• Able to implement highly available, resilient architectures and ensure the infrastructure is kept evergreen.
• Ability to partner with and influence architecture teams in defining non-functional application supportability standards
• Proven leadership skills with drive for continuous improvement
• Exceptional interpersonal, relationship and communication skills
• AWS Cloud certification, Terraform certification and/or other relevant certifications 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience with Data and/or AIML platform engineering in commercial settings, preferably in financial sector
• Exposure to Big data platform engineering and technologies
• Hands-on Software engineering and application development experience 
• Practical experience with Kubernetes, EKS, Docker and MLOps
• Experience with Enterprise/Solution architecture and application/platform ownership   
• Experience adopting AI and other tooling for platform management
