Overview

Apex Group is establishing a new, centralized Global Payments Function, and we are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President – Payment Solutions to lead this critical area. This role will be responsible for all client-related payments across jurisdictions, ensuring robust controls, seamless operations, and alignment with global standards. The VP will lead multi‑regional teams and drive the implementation of a unified, secure, and scalable payments infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and manage regional payment teams across multiple global locations.
  • Oversee the successful implementation of a Global Centralized Payment Model covering all jurisdictions.
  • Ensure suitably experienced payment professionals are appointed in each region.

Governance, Policies & Controls

  • Develop and implement a Global Payments Policy aligned with:
    • Group Anti‑Fraud Policy
    • SOC and ISAE compliance requirements
  • Standardize payment and eBanking controls, ensuring minimum control thresholds across all jurisdictions.
  • Establish and maintain a robust process to track Online Payment Tokens, including coordination with HR to remove access when employees leave.

Operations & Process Excellence

  • Manage global outsourcing arrangements and Centralized Payment Teams as required.
  • Establish and maintain clear Service Level Agreements (SLAs) aligned with client expectations and deliverables.
  • Ensure the availability and adoption of digital checklists and a mandatory callback verification process for all payments.
  • Lead the selection, sourcing, and rollout of a global payment hub solution.

Performance & Reporting

  • Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including transaction volumes, SLA adherence, and process efficiency.
  • Provide regular, data-driven stakeholder reporting on payment performance and improvement areas.

Continuous Improvement

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, proactively identifying and addressing control gaps.
  • Drive process improvement and re‑engineering initiatives to optimize payment efficiency and accuracy.

Skills & Experience Required

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 16+ years of relevant experience in financial services, fund administration, or banking.
  • Proven management experience overseeing large, multi-jurisdictional teams.
  • Strong exposure to Payment/Banking technology platforms and digital payment infrastructure.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Outstanding organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong client‑servicing mindset with prior client‑facing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver on commitments.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
  • Commitment to self-development and team development.
