The Role

Your role

As a Software Architecture professional at Kyndryl, you will provide technical design leadership for embedded, real-time, Linux, cloud-edge, and simulation-enabled software platforms supporting a Kyndryl client’s product engineering environment. This role focuses on software architecture for board support packages, kernel components, device drivers, real-time software, Linux platform components, cloud operating-system components, software integration, simulation tooling, and lifecycle-quality engineering.

What you will do

• Define and guide software architecture for embedded Linux, real-time systems, board support packages, kernel integration, device drivers, network stacks, boot loaders, and platform software components.

• Support hardware bring-up, software integration, system design, validation planning, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and design reviews.

• Provide technical leadership to software engineers, DevOps engineers, integration engineers, test engineers, simulation developers, technical leads, and support teams.

• Ensure software designs consider performance, reliability, maintainability, supportability, security, quality, and certification-readiness where applicable.

• Mentor junior engineers and support complex engineering decisions across distributed product development teams.

Who You Are

Required skills and experience

• 15+ years of experience.

• Strong experience in embedded software architecture, C/C++, Linux kernel, BSPs, device drivers, networking, debugging, and hardware/software integration.

• Experience with real-time systems, embedded Linux, multicore architectures, ARM/x86 platforms, platform-level software, and full software lifecycle execution.

• Ability to guide requirements, design, coding, integration, validation, testing, troubleshooting, and technical reviews.

• Strong communication and documentation skills for engineering and customer-facing technical contexts.
  

Preferred skills and experience

• Experience with simulation-based development, virtualized hardware environments, Python, open-source software, or advanced debugging tools.

• Knowledge of DO-178C, safety certification, V&V, software quality assurance, or certification documentation.

• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, telecom, industrial, medical, or intelligent-edge product environments.
