As a Senior Engineer on this team, you will design and build tools and features for designers, pushing the technology boundaries of what is possible on the web. If you thrive at the intersection of deep engineering and creative tooling, this is your stage.

About the Team

We build backend services that powers Adobe Express, and operate with startup energy inside one of the world's most recognized software companies. We move fast, own our features end-to-end, and collaborate closely with product management, design, and QA to deliver high-quality experiences on a rapid release cadence. The team values autonomy, direct feedback, and engineers who care as much about the user experience as they do about the code.

What You'll Do

• Lead end-to-end technical delivery of complex software systems — from architecture and design to development, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Design and develop new features and tools, collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and user researchers.
• Develop high-performance, reliable, testable, well-documented, and maintainable code.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, and actively contribute to building a high-performance engineering culture.
• Champion an inclusive team environment that supports and values diverse opinions and perspectives.
• Work closely with customers to understand their workflows and needs, and adapt or pivot quickly based on their feedback.
• Know the latest innovative technologies and evaluate their potential impact on our products and roadmap.

What You Need to Succeed

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience developing in JavaScript, along with working knowledge of C++.
• Experience developing microservices with Node.js and REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of web workers and browser performance patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and apply them pragmatically.
• Ability to tackle problems in a sustainable, process-improving manner.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to articulate complex ideas and influence others through well-reasoned explanations.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with WebAssembly (WASM), FFMpeg, advanced JavaScript APIs, or WebGL.
• Background in the graphics domain or with libraries such as Skia.
• Experience developing for multiple devices and platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes.
• An affinity for enabling designers to create more engaging, delightful experiences.
• Strong understanding of design principles and design tools; prior experience building design tooling is a big plus.
• A good sense of humour — we take our work seriously, not ourselves!
