Sr. Manager, Project Office

Team: Project Office. Product & Portfolio Strategy

Location: Bangalore, Novo Nordisk Global Business Services (GBS), India

Are you energised by turning strategy into execution and acting as the trusted right-hand to senior leaders? Do you thrive at the intersection of strategic thinking, financial governance and operational excellence? If so, this is your opportunity to shape how our Product & Portfolio Strategy unit delivers on its ambition – read on and apply today.

Your new role
As Senior Manager, Project Office, you will be a strategic enabler and integrator for the P&PS GBS unit, partnering closely with the Unit Head and department leaders to translate strategy into execution. You will drive transformation, financial planning, project delivery and operational excellence, while ensuring strong governance, compliance and leadership alignment across the unit.

Day-to-day your tasks will include:

  • Acting as a trusted business partner to the Unit Head and department heads – mobilising strategic imperatives across organisational development, performance management and culture, and preparing impactful decision materials, presentations and follow-ups for leadership-level decisions
  • Owning financial governance across line of business and projects – planning, monitoring and controlling LoB and project budgets, driving the AB/RE/LE/YE budget cycles, and co-ordinating financial inputs (e.g. Monthly Management Reports) to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Conceptualising, planning and executing strategic projects for the unit – defining scope, deliverables, cost, timelines and stakeholder mapping, securing approvals and building platforms that increase project visibility and share better practices
  • Planning and driving management meetings and workshops, understanding cross-functional interdependencies, and liaising with stakeholders across GBS, GMA, Commercial and Global teams to unblock issues and accelerate delivery
  • Overseeing seamless administrative and operational functioning of the unit – including onboarding, procurement, facilities coordination, resource planning and supervision of department coordinators handling travel, IT assets, events, invoices, accruals and SLAs
  • Advising on and providing structure to digitalisation, automation, learning & development initiatives, as well as ways of working, culture, communications and outreach across the unit
  • The position is based in Bangalore, has global impact and involves approximately 0–10 travel days per year for relevant meetings, workshops, and strategic alignment.

Your new department
In Product & Portfolio Strategy we drive commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across all therapy areas. We act as a connector and compass, guiding the new Novo Nordisk portfolio for sustained competitiveness upstream, and maximising portfolio potential through successful commercial strategies and competitive launches downstream.
You will join the P&PS GBS Project Office, which drives business solutions, handles end-to-end administration and operations, and mobilises strategic imperatives so that the P&PS GBS unit and our partners in Denmark and Zurich HQs can meet their business objectives. As part of this team, you will work in a dynamic, international environment with cross-functional impact across RareD and P&PS GBS.

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for a strategic, structured and proactive leader who can navigate complexity with diplomacy and drive results across a diverse stakeholder landscape. To succeed in this role, you'll bring with you:

  • A Master's or management degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area, with 8+ years of relevant work experience – back office and/or field experience preferred
  • Strong project management experience with proven leadership capabilities, including the ability to lead teams, manage performance and mentor colleagues
  • Solid knowledge of budgeting and forecasting, business processes, and experience working on department- or organisation-level strategy
  • Proven experience working in international and diverse professional groups, with proficiency in change management and the ability to manage conflicts effectively
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, a high degree of integrity, and the ability to connect at all levels with a diplomatic and collaborative communication style
  • A strategic mindset paired with sharp attention to detail, strong sense of structure and timeliness, and the ability to coordinate and prioritise resources across teams
