Purpose of the Job

• Be responsible, in its traction domain, for the methodology and the technical development of engineering community.Ensure the respect of the application of the best practice and the training/support to be at the requested level of competencies

 

Organisation Reporting

Hierarchical reporting to Traction Sites / Engineering Department / Team / Domain Manager

Functional reporting to Traction Project Engineering Manager (PrEM).

Responsibilities

• To capitalize the return of experience in their domain
• To define best practices in your domain and to spread them in the engineering community
• To create and update the knowledge guidelines, the tools and the templates of deliverables
• To deploy those guidelines, tools and templates in the engineering community and to promote their use
• To create and update the template of the design review check-list
• To chair the design reviews in their domain
• To approve the technical solutions by participating to the system design review
• To share return of experience, guidelines, tools, templates and check-lists with other experts and skill leaders on other sites
• To monitor the evolution of standards and regulation impacting your domain
• To define how those standards must be applied by creating and updating clause-by-clause of the standards
• To ensure the technical quality of the deliverables produced by the engineers of the domain by reviewing and signing those deliverables
• To coach new engineers of the domain
• To provide support upon request to engineers of the domain
• To insure trainings
• To contribute to problem solving

Knowledge & Experience:

• Good knowledge of Traction system for railway application
• Deep technical knowledge in this domain
• Good training ability
• Able to be creative and propose innovation within their technical domain
• Good practice in Problem solving methodologies such as 8D, QRQC…
• Good skills in communication, cooperation, technical leadership, continuous improvement
• Able to communicate in English with engineers, management and customers
