Role Summary (Reality Check)You are not just “supervising.” You are responsible for execution, quality, timelines, and cost control.

If something goes wrong on-site—delays, poor workmanship, material wastage—you are accountable.

• Key Responsibilities1. Site Execution & PlanningExecute work as per approved drawings and structural designs
• Daily planning of activities (excavation, RCC, masonry, finishing, etc.)
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and labor teams
• Ensure work progresses as per project schedule (no excuses)
• 2. Quality Control (Non-Negotiable)Check line, level, and alignment for all structural and finishing work
• Ensure proper curing, mix ratios, and material usage
• Conduct site inspections before, during, and after each activity
• Reject poor workmanship immediately—don’t “adjust”
• 3. Material ManagementVerify material quantities and quality on arrival
• Prevent theft, misuse, and overconsumption
• Maintain stock registers and consumption reports
• Coordinate timely procurement to avoid delays
• 4. Drawing & Technical CoordinationRead and interpret structural, architectural, and MEP drawings
• Identify discrepancies and escalate before execution (not after mistakes)
• Coordinate with consultants and architects for clarifications
• 5. Contractor & Labor ManagementMonitor contractor performance and productivity
• Ensure adequate manpower deployment
• Handle disputes and enforce discipline on-site
• 6. Safety ComplianceEnforce safety standards (helmets, harness, barricading, etc.)
• Conduct regular safety checks and toolbox talks
• Prevent accidents—reacting after an incident is failure
• 7. Billing & MeasurementPrepare and verify contractor bills
• Maintain measurement books (MB)
• Track work completed vs. payments released
• 8. Reporting & DocumentationDaily Progress Reports (DPR)
• Weekly and monthly progress tracking
• Maintain site records, checklists, and approvals
• 9. Coordination with Authorities (Local Context)Ensure compliance with local regulations (BBMP/BDA norms)
• Assist in inspections and approvals when required
• Required SkillsTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of RCC, masonry, finishing works
• Ability to read AutoCAD drawings (must)
• Basic knowledge of project planning tools (MS Project/Excel)
• Practical Skills (More Important Than Degrees)Problem-solving on-site under pressure
• Decision-making without waiting for constant instructions
• Negotiation with contractors
• QualificationsB.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Diploma candidates with strong experience also acceptable)
