Job Description

Transaction Management Analyst

Join us as a Transaction Management Analyst

  • We'll look to you to support the middle office for the Secondary Loan trading business covering loan closing activities
  • Acting as the liaison between front office and other support areas, you'll monitor workflow queues to ensure day one accuracy, and maintain the integrity of all underlying assets, trade bookings, structure maintenance, and appropriate reconciliations
  • We're offering this role at associate level

What you'll do

As a Transaction Management Analyst - Secondary Syndicated Loans, you will support the end-to-end lifecycle of secondary loan trades, ensuring accurate validation, processing, settlement, and control of syndicated loan transactions executed by the trading desk. You will work closely with Front Office, Loan Operations, Agent Banks, and external counterparties to ensure timely trade capture, allocations, settlements, and exception resolution.

You will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of trade economics across internal systems, managing trade events throughout the transaction lifecycle, and ensuring all settlement obligations are met in line with market standards and regulatory requirements. The role also involves monitoring key lifecycle events, including trade amendments, transfer agreements, funding movements, fee payments, and corporate actions associated with syndicated loan facilities.

You will act as a key point of contact for trade-related queries from Trading, Sales, Operations, Risk, Finance, Legal, and external market participants, while supporting a strong control environment through reconciliations, reporting, and process governance.

In addition, you'll:

  • Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives and strategic projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, reducing settlement risk, and supporting the growth of the Secondary Syndicated Loan business.
  • Ensure accurate capture and maintenance of trade details, allocations, settlement instructions, and position records across internal platforms throughout the trade lifecycle.
  • Liaise with Agent Banks, counterparties, Front Office, Legal, Credit Risk, and Operations teams to facilitate successful trade settlements and resolve exceptions in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and manage trade lifecycle events, including assignment agreements, par and distressed settlements, funding notices, fee payments, restructurings, and corporate actions.
  • Perform daily reconciliations and control reports, ensuring all trade bookings, cash movements, positions, and settlements are complete, accurate, and appropriately signed off.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of front-to-back syndicated loan operations, including trade execution, settlement processes, cash management, funding, finance, and risk controls.
  • Support the enhancement of the control framework through procedure maintenance, management information reporting, process reviews, and participation in system testing and implementation activities.
  • Produce management information and operational dashboards to provide transparency on settlement performance, trade volumes, aged fails, and operational risk metrics.
  • Assist in identifying, mitigating, and escalating operational risks while ensuring compliance with internal policies, Loan Syndications and Trading Association (LSTA) and Loan Market Association (LMA) market standards, and regulatory requirements.

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this job, you'll have experience within Secondary Syndicated Loan Operations, Trade Support, or Middle Office, with a strong understanding of the end-to-end loan trade lifecycle, settlement processes, and trade controls.

You'll have hands-on experience with Loan IQ (LIQ) and ClearPar, supporting trade settlement, position management, cash processing, lifecycle events, and exception resolution. You'll also understand how Front Office, Operations, Risk, Finance, and Agent Banks interact to support successful trade execution and settlement.

We're also looking for:

  • Experience supporting secondary syndicated loan trades and knowledge of LMA/LSTA market practices.
  • Working knowledge of Loan IQ (LIQ) and ClearPar.
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience performing reconciliations, managing exceptions, and operating within a robust control framework.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement, process enhancement, and operational efficiency.
  • Understanding of front-to-back processes, including settlements, funding, finance, and risk management.
