Mechanical CAD Designer

Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Design & CAD (Core Work)

* Create 2D + 3D CAD designs for:

  * Boom barrier canopies

  * Mounting structures, brackets, enclosures

* Convert ideas into production-ready drawings

  * DXF for laser cutting

  * Bend drawings for press brake

* Optimize designs for:

  * Cost reduction (material utilization)

  * Ease of fabrication

  * Strength & durability

* Maintain version control of designs

2️⃣ R&D & Product Development

* Develop and improve:

  * Canopy structure (wind resistance, vibration control)

  * Internal mounting systems (motor, controller, SMPS layout)

* Work on:

  * New SKUs (BBC Lite / Glow / Shield / Pro)

* Prototype testing:

  * Fitment trials

  * Load/stress observation

* Suggest improvements base

 * Field issues

  * Installation feedback

3️⃣ Vendor Coordination (Very Critical)

* Coordinate with:

  * Laser cutting vendors

  * CNC bending vendors

  * Welding/fabrication shops

* Share:

  * Correct drawings

  * Tolerances

  * Material specs

* Ensure:

  * Drawings are understood correctly

  * First sample approval before production

4️⃣ Production Supervision

* Track jobs:

  * Cutting → Bending → Welding → Finishing

* Ensure:

  * Correct dimensions

  * Proper weld quality

  * Surface finish readiness for powder coating

* Solve real-time issues:

  * Mis-bends

  * Fitment mismatches

  * Design errors

5️⃣ Quality Control & Testing

* Check:

  * Dimensional accuracy

  * Assembly fit

* Support your QR traceability vision:

  * Maintain records of each design batch

* Assist in:

  * Prototype testing rigs

  * Load simulations

* Create:

  * BOM (Bill of Materials)

  * Assembly drawings

  * SOPs for fabrication

* Standardize:

  * Fasteners

  * Sheet thickness

  * Design modules

🧩 Skill Requirements

Must-Have

* Proficiency in:

  * AutoCAD

  * SolidWorks or Fusion 360

* Understanding of:

  * Sheet metal design

  * Bending allowances

  * Welding basics

Good to Have

* Experience in:

  * Fabrication workshops

  * CNC bending / laser cutting workflows

* Basic knowledge of:

  * Motors, enclosures, electrical layout
