Civil Engineer

Job Summary:We are a premier real estate developer and construction builder based in Bhubaneswar, committed to delivering high-quality residential/commercial projects. We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and detail-oriented Civil Site Engineer to oversee daily on-site construction activities.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of structural concrete works, Bar Bending Schedules (BBS), and quality control, alongside the leadership skills required to manage labor contractors and ensure projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget.

• Key Responsibilities:On-Site Execution & Supervision: Oversee day-to-day construction activities on-site, ensuring work aligns strictly with approved architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Structural & BBS Quality Control: Prepare and verify Bar Bending Schedules (BBS). Accurately calculate cutting lengths, lap lengths, and bend deductions to optimize steel utilization and minimize structural scrap.
• Material Management: Supervise the quality testing of incoming raw materials (cement, aggregates, sand silt content). Monitor material consumption and implement strict controls to keep material wastage (steel, mortar, bricks) within standard tolerances.
• Contractor & Labor Management: Supervise local labor forces and subcontractors. Track progress using Daily Progress Reports (DPRs), enforce micro-schedules, and swiftly resolve on-site delays.
• Billing & Reconciliation: Take precise physical measurements in the Measurement Book (MB) to verify and process running account (RA) bills submitted by contractors, eliminating guesswork or inflation.
• Statutory Compliance & Layout: Ensure building layouts strictly respect Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) approved plans, benchmarks, and setback rules.
• Safety & Standards: Maintain a zero-tolerance policy for site safety. Ensure all site labor and visitors adhere strictly to safety protocols (helmets, harnesses, safety nets).
• Required Qualifications & Skills:Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: 2 to 5 years of proven experience working actively as a Site Engineer with a real estate builder or construction contractor.
• Technical Skills:
• Expert-level capability in reading complex structural and architectural drawings.
• Hands-on experience with steel reinforcement checkouts, concrete pouring, shuttering alignment, and curing protocols.
• Strong working knowledge of standard IS codes for civil construction.
• Local Context: Familiarity with Bhubaneswar's building materials market, local labor dynamics, and regional weather practices (hot weather concreting precautions).
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills (Odia, Hindi, and English), strong conflict resolution abilities, and a high level of integrity.
