- ITI (Electrician) with relevant experience may also apply.
Job Summary :The Electrical Testing & Commissioning Engineer is responsible for testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ensuring the safe operation of electrical equipment in substations, power plants, industrial facilities, and commercial projects. The role involves performing electrical tests, preparing reports, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
Key Responsibilities :Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for electrical equipment.
- Conduct testing of:
- Power Transformers
- Current Transformers (CT)
- Potential Transformers (PT/CVT)
- Circuit Breakers
- Isolators
- Switchgear (HT & LT Panels)
- Protection Relays
- Busbars and Cables
- Batteries & Battery Chargers
- Earthing Systems
- Perform insulation resistance, contact resistance, winding resistance, turns ratio, primary injection, secondary injection, timing, and functional tests.
- Verify control wiring and interlock logic.
- Read and interpret single-line diagrams (SLD), schematic drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Carry out relay testing and protection scheme verification.
- Ensure all work complies with IS, IEC, IEEE, and project specifications.
- Prepare test reports, commissioning reports, and punch lists.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and OEM representatives.
- Identify faults and provide corrective actions.
- Follow electrical safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
- Support project completion within the scheduled timeline.
