Job Description
The Quality Engineer in construction is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities, materials, and workmanship comply with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on site inspections, quality control processes, and continuous improvement to deliver defect-free projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) at project sites
- Review project specifications, drawings, and contract requirements
- Conduct site inspections and ensure work is executed as per approved standards
- Prepare and manage Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and checklists
- Monitor incoming materials quality and ensure compliance with standards
- Identify defects/non-conformities and initiate corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)
- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and consultants on quality issues
- Maintain quality records, reports, and documentation
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, safety norms, and client requirements
- Perform root cause analysis for quality issues and implement improvements
- Support handover documentation and final quality clearance
