We are seeking a Gen AI-based Legacy Modernization Engineer at EY GDS. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing AI accelerators to support EY's efforts in migrating client workloads off their legacy systems. This role involves working across various platforms and cloud service providers, with a primary focus on Azure Open AI and associated LLM services. Collaboration with development teams will be essential to build, deploy, and manage applications that align with business objectives and enhance Legacy Modernization offerings. Your Key Responsibilities

• Application Development
  • Work on R&D initiatives to enhance model performance, efficiency, and alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Manage the technical roadmap, sprint schedules, work with other engineers, providing guidance on best practices.
  • Oversee the design and development of AI applications and accelerators.
• Architecture Design
  • Assess emerging GenAI and Agentic tools and conduct proofs-of-concept.
  • Optimise generative models for latency, cost, and scalability.
• Security
  • Implement safeguards to address risks such as bias, misinformation, and harmful outputs, including information security measures.
  • Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and ethical AI standards.
• People Management
  • Consistently meet commitments in a deadline-driven environment with multiple priorities.
  • Capable of coordinating processes across integrated systems to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship on generative AI best practices.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to application performance, availability, and reliability.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for application design, deployment processes, and configuration.

 

Skills and Attributes for Success

Required Skills:

• Programming
  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with Java or .Net.
  • Exposure to UI Frameworks such as Angular/React.
  • Knowledgeable in implementing Data Connectors and API gateways to facilitate seamless system integration.
• Legacy Systems
  • Hands on experience with Mainframes programming languages like COBOL, JCL, PL1, CICS and Assembler
  • Exposure to CICS using DB2, FTP and VSAM for data processing.
  • Exposure to RPG for AS400 systems is good to have
  • Exposure to HPNS stack is good to have
• Generative AI
  • Design and supervise the implementation of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, integrating vector databases, LLMs, and proprietary knowledge bases.
  • Hands on experience with creating applications and interfaces with Streamlit.
  • Proficient in Python and AI frameworks such as Langchain, LangGraph, Crew AI, Autogen, and Google ADK, with comprehensive knowledge of Vector DBs, Neo4J, and related Graph Databases.
  • Develop robust agentic workflows utilizing tools like LangGraph, CrewAI, and Autogen to enable autonomous task execution, planning, memory management, tool utilization, and multi-context processing (MCP).
  • In-depth understanding of Vector Databases, Neo4J, and associated Graph Database technologies.
  • Proficient with AI platforms including Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Google Agent Space, Microsoft 365, Gemini, and M365 Copilot.
  • Experienced with leading large language models (OpenAI GPT-3.5/4, Google Gemini, Claude, LLaMA 3.0), retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic workflow design.
• Container Orchestration
  • Highly skilled in containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes, as well as cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Collaboration
  • Manage the complete AI lifecycle, encompassing the design, deployment, and maintenance of scalable agent solutions for Technology Analytics.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications: Azure Developer/DevOps Associate or Azure AI Engineer Associate
• Experience: 4 to 10 years’ experience in software engineering and development, with expertise in Python,should have been trained or worked on Mainframe with familiarity with Java and .Net.
• Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development practices and methodologies.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

 

Education:

• Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
