Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facade Designer/Draughtsman with a strong background in the facade industry to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD and responsible for translating architectural concepts into detailed technical drawings for fabrication and installation. This role requires a professional with hands-on experience in generating comprehensive shop drawings, bill of materials (BOM), cutting lists, and fabrication drawings. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed and accurate shop drawings from architectural plans for various facade systems, including structural glazing, curtain walls, and composite panel cladding.
• Generate Bills of Materials (BOM) and cutting lists for a range of facade components to ensure precise cost estimation and minimize material wastage during fabrication.
• Develop fabrication drawings that provide clear instructions and specifications for the manufacturing and assembly of facade elements.
• Conduct research and assist in selecting appropriate facade systems based on client requirements, performance standards, and budget.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and engineers to ensure drawing accuracy, compliance with specifications, and timely delivery of documentation.
• Perform site visits as required to conduct surveys, address technical issues, and provide support during the installation phase.
• Ensure all drafting work adheres to industry standards, safety guidelines, and relevant building codes.
• Maintain proper documentation and manage the revision and submission schedule for all drawings. 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven and strong knowledge of AutoCAD is essential.
• Demonstrated experience in the facade industry, with an in-depth understanding of facade design, materials, and systems.
• Proficiency in creating detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and bill of materials.
• Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and structural drawings.
• Familiarity with various facade systems such as curtain wall, structural glazing, and aluminium composite panel (ACP) cladding.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
• Good communication and teamwork skills for effective coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines. 

Desired Attributes:

• Prior experience with Autocad / Revit / or other 3D modelling software is a plus.
• A diploma or degree in Civil/Mechanical/Architectural disciplines would be an advantage.
