Job Description
A Fitter is responsible for assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment.
- Key ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to understand how parts should be assembled.
- Measure, cut, and shape metal parts using hand tools and machines.
- Assemble machine components such as shafts, gears, bearings, and pipes.
- Install machinery and mechanical equipment in factories or work sites.
- Inspect machines and equipment to identify faults or wear.
- Repair or replace damaged components to ensure machines work properly.
- Use tools and measuring instruments like spanners, drills, vernier calipers, and micrometers.
- Follow safety procedures while working with tools and machines.
