Gen AI/LLM Engineer | Python & GCP

Job Summary
Synechron is hiring a Generative AI/LLM Engineer to drive the design and implementation of advanced AI solutions. This role involves building and deploying Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic AI systems within scalable enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will contribute to AI-led digital transformation by developing high-performance models and integrating them with business applications, primarily leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Software Requirements

Required Skills

• In-depth expertise in Generative AI and Agentic AI technologies

• Programming proficiency in Python (3.8+), with experience in frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar for AI model development

• Familiarity with cloud AI services like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including BigQuery and Vertex AI (or equivalent across AWS/Azure)

• Understanding of APIs and integrations for deploying AI models effectively

• Experience with data management tools and version control systems like Git

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of blockchain and IoT as they relate to AI deployment

• Experience using automation and orchestration tools in AI workflows

Overall Responsibilities

• Design, develop, fine-tune, and deploy LLMs and Generative AI models

• Build and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines

• Develop scalable APIs and microservices for AI model consumption

• Optimize models for performance, scalability, latency, and cost efficiency

• Build reusable ML pipelines, feature engineering frameworks, and data workflows

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Engineering, Product, Cloud, and Applications)

• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend adoption strategies

• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and data privacy standards

• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior team members

Programming Languages

• Essential: Python

• Preferred: Java (for multi-language project needs)

Databases/Data Management

• Essential: SQL (BigQuery preferred), NoSQL databases

• Preferred: Data modeling concepts, data pipelines, ORM concepts

• Essential: Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and infrastructure

• Alternative Experience Pathways: Significant hands-on AI/ML leadership and delivery experience

Day-to-Day Activities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define AI project scope and success metrics

• Lead development, training, and deployment of Python-based AI solutions

• Mentor and guide engineers on AI best practices and project execution

• Evaluate new AI tools and techniques and recommend improvements

• Develop and maintain technology roadmaps and architectural guidelines

• Document processes and share knowledge across teams

• Manage timelines, risks, and dependencies; support governance and compliance

Qualifications

• Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, AI/ML, Data Science, or related field

• Certifications: AI/ML or cloud AI certifications are advantageous

• Training: Ongoing professional development in AI technologies and best practices

• Equivalency: Relevant hands-on experience may be considered in place of formal degrees
